The NCNW Minnie H. Goodlow Page Section hosts an annual Thanksgiving Baskets Community Outreach initiative each November. We serve 50 families in the community and provide food baskets with turkey, vegetables, fruit and all the trimmings! In 2020, we modified our plans to accommodate Covid-19 social distancing requirements and were able to serve even more families! We will return to our traditional basket giveaways when appropriate.
The Thanksgiving Baskets Community Outreach is held in in November.
Praise the Lord! The raging Coronavirus did not stop the Minnie H. Goodlow Page Section from donating to needy families in the Dallas area. We did not gather due to safety precautions, but God allowed us to get the job done! Instead of donating food baskets, we mailed gift cards to the families. Thanks to the generosity of our sisters, we received financial donations and gift cards totaling $1200, making it possible to feed 30 families which included a total of 136 people for Thanksgiving! Recipients have shared their appreciation:
“Thanks for your loving heart and helping hands, it gave us food and peace at Thanksgiving.”
“The gift cards made our Thanksgiving a blessed success. I thank God for each of you remembering those in need like my family.”
Thanks to our members and the Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway Committee for your charitable spirit and support. God’s richest blessings upon you and your family throughout the holiday season!

In 2019, the event was held on November 23, and baskets were distributed at the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, 3715 Westmoreland, Dallas, TX. This event is sponsored by our membership, community volunteers and donors. Check out the photographs from the event!
